Megan Atchley is a New York based violinist and educator dedicated to creating musical experiences that resonate with her audiences aesthetically, politically and bodily. She loves making and supporting new music and does so in a variety of capacities including Artistic Director for the Firey Strings Company, member of new music/jazz/hip-hop band ShoutHouse, and frequent performer with various badass new music folks and ensembles. Megan is on faculty at Third Street Music School, Girls Prep Middle School, and the Ithaca College Summer Music Academy. She holds degrees from NYU Steinhardt and Ithaca College. In addition to music Megan is passionate about feminism, food and Jane Austen novels.
